11/15/2022 0 Comments Sql server compact 3.5 sp2 msi files![]() Normally, I would just "try it out" to see if it worked but we've been chasing so many problems and installing/un-installing/re-installing that we thought we should get a definitive word from MS. So, unless I am misinterpretting section 1.1 this document seems a bit contradictory. “Pending Support”: Specifies that SQL Server Compact 3.5 RTM does not support synchronization to SQL Server 2008 but this support will be enabled in SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1. The next table in section 1.1 (the blue table) also indicates 3.5 RTM clients are not supported under SQL Server 2008. The 7th row in the table (for deployment D7) explicitly says Compact 3.5 RTM clients are *NOT* supported under SQL Server 2008. ![]() ![]() So, this is completely consistent with what you're saying - I only need Compact 3.5 SP1 Server Tools in order to replicate with a Compact 3.5 client.īut then if you look at Section 1.1 you will see a table. SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 Server Tools package enables synchronization between SQL Server Compact client versions 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 and SQL Server 2008 through SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 IIS components. On one hand, item #4 under the "Summary" section says: I'd seen the link you referred to and the information it contains seems a bit contradictory.
